1. Scope of Services

Pocket Tax provides tax-related services including, but not limited to, personal income tax returns, self-employment income reporting, CRA reviews and reports assistance, tax consultations, and related compliance services.

The scope of work depends on the information and documents provided by the client and may vary according to individual circumstances.

We do not provide legal advice, investment advice, or financial planning services unless specifically agreed to in writing.

2. Client Responsibilities

You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful information required to prepare your tax return or respond to CRA correspondence.

Pocket Tax relies on the information supplied by you and cannot be held responsible for errors, omissions, reassessments, penalties, or interest arising from incomplete or inaccurate information.

Clients must review all completed tax returns and submissions before approving them for filing. Final responsibility for filed information remains with the client.

3. CRA Reviews & Correspondence

When assisting with CRA reviews, reports, or reassessments, Pocket Tax prepares responses using information supplied by the client.

While we strive for accuracy and timely communication, we cannot guarantee CRA decisions, processing times, or outcomes.

Clients must promptly provide CRA correspondence and comply with all CRA deadlines.

4. Fees & Payment

Fees are communicated before or during engagement and may vary depending on the complexity of the services requested.

Payments are non-refundable once work has commenced.

Additional fees may apply for amended returns, CRA responses, or services beyond the original scope of work.

5. Confidentiality & Data Protection

Pocket Tax is committed to protecting your personal and financial information.

Client information is used only for providing tax services or complying with legal and regulatory requirements.

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties except where required by law or with your authorization.

Clients are responsible for securely transmitting documents when sharing them electronically.

6. Limitation of Liability

Pocket Tax's liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific service provided.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, CRA penalties, interest, or outcomes resulting from information supplied by clients, CRA decisions, or changes in tax legislation.

7. Service Refusal or Termination

Pocket Tax reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services if required information is not provided, unlawful activity is suspected, or these Terms are violated.

Work completed before termination remains payable.

8. Communication

Communication may occur by email, telephone, messaging platforms, or in person.

Response times may vary during peak tax season.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada together with all applicable provincial legislation.

10. Acceptance of Terms

By using Pocket Tax services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

Continued use of our services constitutes ongoing acceptance of these Terms.
